World of Asphodel
The Nagarin — known in other lands as Yuan-ti — are a serpent people whose ancient empire predated even the Sarathi civilization. Where the Sarathi are warm-blooded and humanoid with scaled features, the Nagarin are cold-blooded, ophidian, and deeply alien. Their society operates on a caste system determined by the ratio of serpentine to humanoid features. In Asphodel, the surviving Nagarin are reclusive, inhabiting jungle ruins and hidden temple complexes where they preserve rituals older than memory.
